Customs administration in Juba and Nimule
We developed the e-Customs system with South Sudan’s National Revenue Authority and introduced it in Juba and Nimule in March 2022.
The project sits within the move from paper-based administration towards electronic customs processes, where declarations, decisions and transaction records can be followed through a common workflow.
Connecting the customs journey
A customs process brings together information about the trader, the goods, the declaration and any amount payable. Each stage needs to remain connected as the request moves between the teams responsible for it.
Digital records help those teams organise the information used to review a declaration and follow its progress. A consistent reference also makes it easier to investigate an exception without starting the record again.
